Great for Grad student or young professional! Come join our wonderful household - we live in Clarkston just east of Decatur. Clarkston is one of the most diverse square miles in the US, so we have friendly neighbors, great restaurants and cool... community events. The Clarkston campus of Georgia State is 5 mins away. The heart of Emory campus is 17 mins away. For Georgia State downtown, its 9 minutes to Kensington train station, then 20 mins to the campus - an easy commute.
--> Our house is comfortable with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths upstairs. On the main floor are the modern kitchen, den, living room, patios, and laundry room. The front porch is where you can just chill and listen to the sounds of the evening if you want. The back patio has a natural gas grill and table surrounded by fruit, vegetables and flowers. The peach tree, pear tree and blueberries are amazing in their seasons.
--> The available bedroom looks out over the quiet back yard with magnolia, maple & pine. It features a good queen bed, ceiling fan, reading chair, computer desk & chair, storage bins & a double hanging closet. It also has Alexa if you want it. (We use Alexa throughout the house to control lights, the thermostat, etc.)
--> Since there are usually 4 of us in the house the fully furnished kitchen has two refrigerators -- you're only sharing the fridge with one other person. We run the dishwasher every night, so all the kitchen items are clean & available each morning. No piled up dirty dishes!
--> Four people has always been the right number for our house. Sometimes you have the house to yourself; often there's another person to talk to, but it never feels crowded. I've lived here 28 years, Dan (mid-twenties) has lived here 4 years. Jeremi (mid-twenties) is in his first year with us. You would make #4 and complete our household. We are LGBTQ+ friendly.
--> It helps to have a car to live here, although the Marta bus line is just 4 blocks away. When you live with us you become part of an extended family. Some housemates have completed their entire Doctorate living here, others their Masters, some have just worked. We have always stayed friends and even visited some in their home countries. One former housemate comes back from Philly to Dragoncon each year!
